Teeth grinding / bruxism
Botulinum toxin relaxes the chewing muscle (the masseter), so that teeth grinding and jaw clenching decrease and complaints such as jaw pain and headaches can subside.
With a botulinum toxin treatment, teeth grinding and jaw clenching (bruxism) can be reduced by temporarily relaxing the chewing muscle (masseter). This can reduce complaints such as jaw pain, muscle tension and tension-related headaches. The treatment is carefully tailored to your complaints and anatomy.
The effect becomes visible gradually and is optimal after about two weeks. Mild redness, swelling or a small bruise at the injection site may occur and usually fades by itself. The result lasts an average of 4 to 6 months.
