PRP/PRF Hair Treatment
With PRP/PRF your own blood plasma, rich in growth factors, is introduced into the scalp to stimulate the hair follicles, slow hair loss and make the hair fuller and stronger.
During a PRP/PRF treatment a small amount of your own blood is taken and separated in a centrifuge, so that the plasma rich in platelets and growth factors remains. This 100% autologous plasma is then introduced into the scalp. The growth factors can contribute to supporting the hair follicles, improving hair quality and reducing hair loss. This can be a valuable treatment, especially for early or moderate hair loss. It is also suitable as maintenance of the hair after a hair transplant. In addition, it can be combined with treatments such as minoxidil or finasteride.
We use the Arthrex® ACP system, with slow centrifugation and without the use of anticoagulants when separating the blood and plasma/fibrin. Our treatments are therefore PRF treatments. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is an evolved version of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), in which the growth hormones are released more slowly due to the presence of the natural fibrin networks. As a result, the skin is stimulated for several days, resulting in a longer and better result.
The table below shows that the Arthrex® ACP system produces a plasma concentration with up to 3 times as many platelets as other PRP systems. The platelets determine the ultimate effect of the treatment, because they produce the necessary growth factors. The higher the concentration of platelets, the more effective the treatment is.
